Caravelle Watches for Christmas

When I go through my watch collection looking for good ideas for Christmas Gifts, one thing in clear:  "C" stands for Caravelle.  Caravelle by Bulova watches provide Bulova style and construction in an affordable package.

Caravelle by Bulova

One of my favorite diver-style watches was this old Caravelle by Bulova Men's 45B35 Rubber Strap Black Dial Watch (above). While this one is no longer made, you can find many Caravelle watches on Amazon or at retailers like JC Penney.

Where a Bulova watch might cost $100 to $600, a Caravelle by Bulova watch can come it at a much more attainable price of $130 or less. Here are some great looking Caravelle watches for men.  (In 2024, I ordered this murdered-out Caravelle on Amazon.)

Caravelle (Model 45B155)

As of November 2025, a variant of this watch is available on Amazon with a similar murdered out look, but with subdials and chronograph functionality. It's model 45B159 (below) and it's available at a great low price! You can see this cool Caravelle Sport watch here on my Amazon affiliate link.

Caravelle is great for solid watch styles that provide a hint of prestige at a price most of us can afford. If you like the fluted bezel look of watches like the Rolex Perpetual Oyster or Rolex Datejust. You can get a little of that dazzle for a song with the Caravelle 3-Hand Date Watch with Coin Edge Bezel (shown below).

This great fluted (or coin-edge) bezel watch comes in 6 different strap and color variants. In 2025, you can get it here on Amazon!

In the spirit of the holiday season, don't overlook Caravelle by Bulova watches for women, they look great and offer a lot of style at a reasonable price. If your lady love likes Swarovski crystal or a old world vintage look, Caravelle watches always let her have the time!

Bulova Watches for Christmas

For Christmas, you may want to give a gift that brings a touch of elegance and class.  Bulova watches certainly bring that to the gift giving season.  I only have a couple of Bulova watches in my collection, but they look good.  Here's the Bulova that I wear to the office on a regular basis.  There is something special about that tuning fork logo.

A Bulova Dress Watch

While this particular watch is discontinued, you may still be able to find this watch at various discount outlets.  If you'd like a square classic dress Bulova watch, you might like a tanker this Bulova Sutton Automatic.

Of course, no Bulova entry would be complete without mention of Bulova Precisionist line of watches. They are among the most precise quartz watches ever made. Bulova calls it the most accurate quartz watch with a sweeping second hand. It's truly a beautiful watch and the apex of quartz watch design.

During this time of year, we should also remember that Bulova also makes stunning watches for the ladies. This one is stunning with Swarovski Crystal. As a gift, the Bulova Woman's Watch with Swarovski crystal makes a statement.

Armitron Watches for Christmas

November marks the start of the Christmas Season.  It's time to shop.  From now until Christmas, I'm going to try an cover potential Christmas gift watches from A to Z.  If my posts and reviews inspire you or give you a great idea, please consider buying via one of the advertisements that support this blog.  Now, onto the watches!

In my collection, A usually stands for Armitron.  Armitron watches usually offer excellent style and design at affordable price points.  I typically get my Armitron watches from Kohl's.  However, Kmart and Walmart also have nice collections of Armitron watches on sale.

With Armitron, you can go digital or analog and have plenty of attractive options.  In the digital realm, I have two Armitron watches that look really cool.  The first watch is a no nonsense Armitron All-Sport digital watch.   It would be a great Christmas gift for a young person or a nice bonus or stocking stuffer for an adult.

The second Armitron digital watch in my collection looks like something from a Star Trek movie.  It is smooth, sleek, and futuristic.  In a nifty ergonomic twist, the face of this Armitron is slightly angled towards the wearer.

I also have two Armitron analog watches. One is a nice dress watch called the Armitron Diamond.  It's a simple, elegant, watch that is perfectly appropriate to wear to any office.  In looks, I think it rivals more expensive watches from Pulsar, Bulova, and Seiko.

Finally, I added this really sharp Armitron stainless steel sport watch to my collection about a year ago.  Of all the Armitron's I own, this would make the best Christmas gift.  You can read the full review here on this blog:

Bringing Dead Watches Back to Life!

Greetings!  If one thing should scare a watch collector this Halloween, it's dead watches!  I have lots of them lying quietly in their crypts.  They wait.  They wait for me to raise them from the dead and let them tick again.  Here are some of my favorite watches that lie dead:  stilled by the lack of a battery!

This diver-style watch has long been one of my favorites.  But, for now, it lies still in the darkness of my watch box.  One day, I will get a battery and my Caravelle by Bulova will tick again!  At $59, Caravelle by Bulova Men's 45B35 Rubber Strap Black Dial Watch is a great deal!

Another favorite watch that currently lies quiet is my Structure Military-Style Watch.  I thought it would soldier on for a long time, but instead it haunts my watch box!

Finally, this Halloween, one of my favorite silver-on-silver watches lies shining in the night like a psycho's butcher knife.  Once it has a battery, it will try to possess my soul.

All these dead watches are pretty creepy.  But, soon they will be alive!  I'll have to get batteries soon so that they can surround me with their a quiet tick-tock, tick-tock, for ever more in the silent middle of the night.

Happy Halloween!

New Watch Companies: Minuteman Watches & Mvmt Watches

I've never really understood the purpose of Twitter, but now that I've been on the site for awhile, I've found that it is a great place to learn about interesting new watch companies.  Two of the most intriguing new watch companies that I've found start with M.

An MVMT watch (circa 2026 on Amazon)

The first new watch company that I discovered is Minuteman Watches.  The founder, Thomas Carey, wanted to start a watch company with a focus on helping American veterans.  While they are currently working on prototypes, the watches will be assembled in the United States and a portion of the proceeds will go to charities dedicated to helping veterans.  You can read more and see pictures at their website:  Minuteman Watches.  I think the designs have a very tough looking military-inspired look. (As of this 2026 update, they appear to have gone out of business.  Their website is still active, but has not been updated in years).

The second new watch company that I found is called MVMT watches.  They have created a line of watches that is perfect for business or casual settings.  MVMT watches have simple, clean, lines and start at only $59.  You can see the designs and buy an MVMT watch at mvmtwatches.com.

Watch Deals: Get $10 Off of a Modify Watch

Are you looking for something that is a radical departure from your typical military or diver-style watch?  Are you looking for something fresh and peppy?  Want to change the look of your watch whenever the mood strikes you?  Then you might check out Modify Watches.

Modify Watches have colorful rubber bands and interchangeable watch mechanism units.  To get a new look, just pop the old watch unit and pop in another watch unit.  Watch mechanism units are interchangeable and have different designs on the face.

Preppy vs. Peppy:  A Traditional Timex beside a Modify Watch

It's a creative concept and one that promises to keep your watch perpetually fresh.  I remember the Swatch collecting craze of the 1980s and I think that Modify watches update this concept.  Instead of buying dozens of colorful watches, you can buy a band or two and two or three faces.  Then, you can interchange them whenever creative lightning strikes you!

Modify Watches aren't expensive.  Anyone can start a collection.
