Watch batteries are essential to keeping your quartz watches running. I've replaced many watch batteries over the years and I find replacing batteries myself to be convenient and save a little money. I don't believe in skimping on watch battery quality or price. I also don't believe its wise to use alkaline batteries in watches since they can burst and corrode. For your convenience, I've put together a list of Amazon affiliate links to common watch batteries from reputable companies like Duracell, Energizer, and Switzerland's Renata.

If you are new to watch battery replacement, you'll want to watch plenty of Youtube videos to get familiar with the process, buy a basic watch repair kit, and get a case-back press for snapping cases back into place. Since there is a chance that you'll mess up, I'd suggest only changing batteries on your lower price watches. For example, you can set a threshold of $75 watches or less. For more expensive watches from brands like Bulova or Movado, you may want to take your watch to a qualified jeweler or watch repair specialist.
