Wristwatch Review: Armitron 20/5351GNSV Stainless Steel Diver-style Multifunction Watch

This is a fairly new addition to my collection. It's an Armitron 20/5351SV Stainless Steel Diver-style Multifunction Watch.

Armitron 20/5351GNSV Stainless Steel Diver-style Multifunction Watch

Watch Features

This Armitron has 50 meters (165 feet) of water resistance and functional subdials to tell the 24-hour time, date, and day of the week.

Watch Style

The watch has a rich green dial and bezel. The markers and sub-dials, are trimmed with a gold-tone. The hands have the gold tone as well for a rich look. However, the case is the familiar silver-tone of stainless steel. Somehow, the look works much better than I thought it would.

Watch Dimensions

The 20/5351GNSV has substantial presence on the wrist. It has a 52mm diameter dial and is 16mm thick. The bracelet is 24mm wide. It's a big watch.

Overall Impression

I got this watch at Burlington for an amazing price. But, that was luck, you can find the Armitron 20/5351 on Amazon. I wish it had a better name--a nickname even. Hulk is taken. Perhaps, I'll call this one the hornet. This watch is a great value and I enjoy wearing it!

Wristwatch Review: Armitron Stainless Steel Watch (Model 20/5481SV)

One of the cooler looking Armitron watches that I picked up there year is the Model 20/5481SV. It's a diver-style watch with a fixed bezel. I picked it up at Burlington for about $20.

Armitron Stainless Steel Watch (20/5481SV)

Watch Features

The all-metal construction of this watch gives it a business-like demeanor which is commendable. It looks more expensive than it actually was.

Watch Construction

Most of my Armitron watches of late feature all stainless steel construction. The case, bracelet, bezel, and caseback of this watch  are all made of stainless steel. It has a flat mineral glass crystal. The watch has 50-meters (165-feet) of water resistance.

Armitron Model 20/5481SV Caseback

One flaw with this Armitron is that I have to press extra hard on the clasp to make sure that it has snapped securely shut. I suspect that this may be a flaw with my individual timepiece, but it is something to be aware of.

Watch Design

The design of this watch really lets the steel show. Most of the watch is finished as flat stainless steel. However, the crown, the case sides, and two thin strips are trim that flank the center links of the watch are polished to a nice shine. On the dial, the hour batons appear to be white lume set within shiny metal circles. The date window and numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o'clock are also outlined with shiny metal. The hour and minute hands have inset strips of lume.

Watch Dimensions

This Armitron watch shows well on the wrist with a 43mm case that is 10mm thick. The metal bracelet fits my wrist, but like some other Armitron watches, it is snug.

Overall Impression

Overall, the Model 20/5481SV from Armitron is a very cool looking watch and an outstanding value for $20. You can check out Armitron Analog Watches for men here on Amazon.

Wristwatch Review: Armitron 20/5573 Stainless Steel Tachymeter Watch

Armitron is putting out some fantastic looking watches at affordable prices. This one is Model 20/5573. It's a day-date watch with a black dial and tachymeter markings on a bold blue bezel.

Watch Features

This watch is straight forward and readable. In this sub-$50 watch category, you don't get any special features beyond the day-date. There is no actual stop watch functionality.

Watch Construction

I really appreciate that this watch has all stainless steel construction. The case, bracelet, and caseback all have the strength of real steel. It has a flat mineral glass crystal. The watch has 50-meters of water reistance. The hour batons appear to be chrome foil pieces that are applied, not painted on. The date window is also trimmed with chrome. The hour and minute hands have a little strip of fairly weak lume on them.

Armitron 20/5573 Stainless Steel Tachymeter Watch

I really like that the push button deployant watch bracelet is removeable and replaceable. Unfortunately, many less expensive watches have integrated bracelets that are difficult to resize and/or upgrade. If needed, you can also get extra links through the Armitron website.

Watch Dimensions

This Armitron watch has presence on the wrist with a 45mm case that is 10.5mm thick. The band is 7.5 inches long and very exactly fits my wrist. To be honest, it's just a tad snug. A longer bracelet with the ability to make micro-adjustments would be welcomed.

Overall Impression

Overall, I like the Model 20/5573 from Armitron. It looks good and I think it is a good value for the money. Armitron watches are not expensive and, yet, they are still real watches. If you'd like to take a closer look at this watch, check it out here on Amazon:

Watch Review: Armitron (Model 20/5403TT) Men's Two-Tone and Silver Day Date Dress Watch

I recently bought this Armitron Two-Tone Day Date Dress Watch (Model 20/5403TT) at Burlington. It looked great and was only $19.99 at the discount and closeout chain.

Armitron Model 20/5403TT Two-Tone Dress Watch

Watch Style and Features

This all stainless steel watch has a quartz movement, 50 meter (165 feet) of water resistance, and a fold-over clasp with double button safety closure. As a dress watch, this Armitron makes effective use of gold and silver tones and shiny and matte surfaces. The inner links of the bracelet are a bronze-like gold-tone with a flat finish. The outer links are a shiny silver-tone. The dial is what Armitron calls a gray sun-ray dial with gold tones for odd-hour marker batons and even-hour numerals. The dial is ringed by a sloping gray minute track that slopes up to an inner bezel with a shiny gold-tone. The crown is gold toned in keeping with the two-tone design of the watch while the case is a shiny silver-tone.

Watch Dimensions

This Armitron has a 41mm round case that is 10mm thick. The bracelet is 20mm wide and generously sized. It fits my wrist perfectly with no additional room for expansion.

Overall

Armitron has created a very nice looking watch for a remarkably low price. Like many low price quartz watches, the minute hand can sometimes jump a little when you push it in to set the watch. However, with a little fiddling, I was able to set mine to within 5 seconds of the atomic clocks of the U.S. Naval Observatory as shown on Time.gov. I like the simplicity and rich looks of this watch. However, it's almost too pretty and might tempt a woman in your life might abscond with it and make it a "boyfriend watch." Overall, this is a great dress watch at a great price. I like it.

Availability

Fashion watches come and go. This exact watch doesn't seem to be available on Amazon.  However, it's currently available here at Walmart for $32.99 (regularly $39.99). You might also be able to luck into this watch at a Burlington store. A similar watch with a different bracelet and Roman numeral markers can be found here on Amazon

Wristwatch Review: Armitron Men's Date Function Dial Bracelet Watch

Many watch branches are reviving vintage watch looks with great fanfare. But, the big secret is that vintage watch looks never really went away. They were normalized in countless normal quartz watches that are available at low cost from retailers all around the country. A great example of a modern watch with a vintage vibe is my latest Armitron watch. It's model 20/5497. It's a simple straight forward analog quartz watch.

Armitron Stainless Steel Quartz Watch with Date Function

Watch Construction

The watch is an all stainless steel watch with a stainless steel bracelet.  In a world where plastic and base metal cases are common, all stainless steel construction seems unusual at the sub-$30 price point.  The watch also has a very slightly domed mineral glass crystal.  The bracelet and the watch case incorporate flat and shiny silver tones.  But, the dial is done in a deep navy blue.

Watch Dimensions

This Armitron watch has a sensible 40mm case that is 9mm thick.  However, the bracelet could have been a little longer.  I found the watch to be just a bit snug on my wrist.  It also had a double-locking foldover clasp that didn't provide any easy way for me to easily adjust the size.  Instead, I opted to get a nice 20mm nylon strap from Bisonstrap to replace the metal bracelet.  The result was a good look and a strap that matched the dial.

Overall Impression

Overall, I really like this Armitron and I'm glad I got an alternative strap.  It's a nice watch for everyday wear and it's equally comfortable at work or on the weekends.  I think it was a treasure to find at Burlington.  However, you can easily pick this Armitron up on Amazon for an amazing price.
