Wristwatch Review: Geoffrey Beene Diamond Watch with Mesh Band

One of my more comfortable and attractive fashion watch purchases has been this simple quartz Geoffrey Beene Diamond watch with a mesh band.

Watch Construction

This watch has a stainless steel caseback and gunmetal stainless steel mesh band which is very adjustable and generously sized. The quartz movement is powered by a common SR626SW battery. The diamond is a tiny gem diamond that looks good from some angles, but is of no great value. The case appears to be a good quality base metal.

Watch Style

The Geoffrey Beene Diamond watch with mesh band comes in four color combinations on Amazon. In my opinion the gunmetal and gold looks the best. It combines the menace of gunmetal and the richness of gold very nicely.

This watch is very well styled and does minimalism better than some dedicated minimalist brands. The 42mm diameter case brings presence to the wrist and the band is quite adjustable for a perfect fit.

Overall Impression

This Geoffrey Beene watch is one of the most comfortable in my collection. The mesh band wears smoothly against the skin and the dial in clear and readable. I like it and I got a good deal on it for $30 or less in a Ross or Burlington store.

Where can I get this Geoffrey Beene Watch?

You can get this Geoffrey Beene watch on Amazon here for less than $50.

Watch Wearing Wednesday: A Geoffrey Beene Quartz Watch with Decorative Subdials.

Here's a Geoffrey Beene Quartz watch that I've been wearing lately. We recently found it in some stuff we had packed away. It was just $22 at Burlington. The subdials are non-functional decorations, but it does have a working date and a stainless steel caseback.

The thing about a watch like this is that it shows that you don't need to spend a whole bunch of money on a watch for daily wear. There are plenty of bang around watches for $50 or even less.

If you are interested in this one, you might be able to find it easily on Amazon.  This appears to be the same watch, but the metal tone is difficult to figure out.  To investigate, bang it here so you can see it on Amazon.

Watch Wearing Wednesday: Geoffrey Beene Quartz Analog Watch with Tonneau Case and Green Dial

Earlier this summer, I came across an inexpensive watch at a Ross Dress for Less store here in Georgia.  It's a Geoffrey Beene brand watch with the name Diamond at the 6 o'clock position and the tiniest "Diamond" at the 12 o'clock position.  In a $22 watch, I suspect it's either not real or not much of a diamond that's for sure.  But, the thing that drew me in was the brilliant green color of the dial and the somewhat unusual shape of the case.  While the dial is round, the case is almost a tonneau shape and the entire watch is covered by the crystal.  It's certainly an eye-catching timepiece.

The watch is model GBA0005SL and it has a 42 mm case and a 22mm wide bracelet.  On various online auction sites, it is also available in blue.  For value priced watches, Geoffrey Beene often has interesting choices.  I've posted about Geoffrey Beene before.

At less than $30, this Geoffrey Beene watch is a steal. It has a rich look for a poor person's price.  It's a great watch for any day or any night of the week.  You can find more Geoffrey Beene watches for men on Amazon.
