Adee Kaye watches more than O.K.!

A friend of mine from mywristwatch.net sent me a cool watch a while back.  It's an Adee Kaye Automatic wristwatch with a vintage style.  It has a coin-edged bezel, a subdial for the second hand, an exhibition caseback, and a nice leather strap.

With an all stainless case, 3 atmosphere water resistance, and a 21-jewel movement, this is a very nice watch. Adee Kaye watches look nice, have innovative style, and are affordable.  Here are a few of the Adee Kaye models that I thought looked good on Amazon.

The Perfect Wenger Watch for Winter

Winter has been wicked to the South this year.  It initially caught our leaders unprepared, left commuters trapped in their gridlocked cars for up to twenty hours, and then it kept everyone home from work with freezing rain and snow.  That doesn't usually happen in the Georgia.

During the ice storms, it was weird to have a world without cars.  From Tuesday through Thursday, few people dared to venture out on the highways.  Instead, we just holed up in our apartments.

Fortunately, Wenger had just the ticket to help psychologically prepare me.  I strapped on my Wenger Swiss Military Men's Grenadier Watch and was totally ready for all things Alpine!  If you'd like to read more about the Swiss Military Grenadier, check out my review:

Once I was wearing my watch, I was able to tackle the ice and the snow with grace and aplomb.  Well, at least, I was able to get out and walk the dog.

Timex Elevated Classic - Shades of Black, Silver, and Gray!

One of the cool things about my Timex Elevated Classic is its simple color palette.  The watch simply has shades of stainless, gray, and black.  It also has a tough mineral crystal and 50 meters of water resistance.  It's a black and white watch if there ever was one.  But, it is readable and the indiglo lighting system works well.

Despite the raunchy "Fifty Shades of Grey" background of this photo, this Timex isn't kinky at all.  The bezel doesn't even rotate!  Of course, there is the strap.  It's genuine leather . . .

AVI-8 Hawker Hurricane watch meets OV-1 Mohawk

My AVI-8  Hawker Hurricane watch seems drawn to vintage aircraft like this OV-1C Mohawk.  It's a Vietnam-era observation and attack aircraft.

Here is a Mohawk in flight in an Army photograph.  While these aircraft are now retired, they do look like something from the World War II era.

An OV-1 Mohawk in Flight

The Mohawk flew from 1959 through 1996 when it was officially retired by the Army.  Even though it was a retro looking plane, NASA used them for flight research.  Here is a NASA Mohawk at Edwards Air Force Base in the 1980s.  It was used to research stall warning technology.

If you appreciate flight and aviation history, you'll like AVI-8 watches like my Hawker Hurricane.  The brand celebrates the dawn of the jet era with the Hawker Hunter watches.
