The subdials support the chronograph function and provide the 24-hour time, a 60 second stop watch, and a 60 minute stop watch. The watch is powered by a Japanese VD53 quartz movement and takes a <a href="https://amzn.to/3Tkdicz" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">SR-920SW</a> battery. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">All of the watch features worked as advertised. I initially found the date a little challenging to pick up at a glance, but it provided within a gold-toned box at the 4:30 position on the watch dial. In my opinion, the chronograph features of the watch would be a little more useful if the subdial at 6 o'clock was graduated in 1 second increments so you could time things down to the second. Similarly from a functional perspective, I like hashmarks on the first 15 minutes of a rotating bezel. But, these criticism are mere nits. This Invicta is a fashion watch. It's designed to draw attention and it does that very well. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><h2 style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">WATCH DIMENSIONS</span></h2><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">The Invicta Pro Diver Model 6981 is an undeniably big watch. It definitely feels like you are making a statement when you put this bad boy on your wrist. It's a flashy watch to wear when you are going out to a restaurant, bar, or club.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div>

It's fun to own. I sometimes wear it out to restaurants or for short jaunts around and about town. Due to its size and weight, it's not a watch I would chose for all day wear. It simply gets a little heavy. This watch is like a flashy car. It's not always practical, but it is usually a lot of fun. As a statement timepiece, it's a good addition to a well-rounded watch collection. <h2 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">OVERALL IMPRESSION</span></h2><p><span style="font-size: large;">As an inexpensive watch without a lot of metal, it's also a great watch for travel. If you lose it or damage it, you won't cry for long. For a fairly low price, you get a great looking watch that is readable, functional, and reliable. I like it. This is a Timex watch I often choose for my everyday expeditions.</span></p>

Are you old enough to remember Timex Watch commercials? The venerable watch company's slogan was always that "it takes a ticking and keeps on ticking." It's been a long time since I've seen a television commercial where a Timex gets strapped to an outboard engine and dunked in a tank of water for a high rpm spin. But, some Timex watches still look tough enough to take that challenge. One example is the Timex Expedition Core Analog Watch.
</span></pre><pre class="a-b-r-La" style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; text-wrap: wrap; user-select: text;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">
I chose the Timex Expedition Core Analog Watch because it provides the dark and dangerous looks of a professional military or divers watch in an affordable Timex package. The watch itself has a 42-millimeter diameter black resin case that is about 11 millimeters thick. A durable resin band with a belt-style fastener secures the watch to your wrist. The case back is stainless steel. Contrast is provided by very readable white numbers that stand out against a jet black dial. Large numbers are placed at the 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 o'clock positions. Small numbers inboard of the primary numbers provide the 24-hour or military time (14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22 are marked). At the 3 o'clock position a small window provides the date with black numbers on a white background.
The bezel has diver-style markings with pale blue numerals denoting the minutes in ten minute intervals. Unfortunately, the bezel does not rotate which undermines the use of this watch for timing. I really like functional, rotating, bezels especially on a watch that looks this purposeful. This Timex has water resistance down to 50 meters. The durable resin band is flexible, but not as soft as many watches with increasingly popular silicone bands. Like all Timex Expedition watches, the Core Analog Watch has Indiglo lighting technology. You simply push the crown to illuminate the face of the watch. I found that this feature works very well.
The main appeal of this watch is its para-military styling. The black case, band, and markings are similar to watches costing hundreds and even thousands of dollars more. If you aren't jumping out of planes, hunting down terrorists, or diving to the bottom of the sea, this Timex should certainly look good and accurately provide you with the time and the date. Since the crystal is recessed within the bezel, it should be protected from at least some minor lickings that might occur during daily wear.
Overall, I like the Timex Expedition Core Analog Watch. It's a tough, good looking, watch for an affordable amount of money. I only wish the bezel rotated! Then, it would be perfect. </span></pre><pre 0px=""margin-bottom:="" break-word="" class="a-b-r-La" margin-top:="" overflow-wrap:="" text-wrap:="" text="" user-select:="" wrap=""><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></pre><pre 0px="" break-word="" class="a-b-r-La" margin-bottom:="" margin-top:="" overflow-wrap:="" text-wrap:="" text="" user-select:="" wrap=""><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">[If you'd like to get this watch, it is still available in 2024 on <a href="https://amzn.to/3uCeKxo" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Amazon here</a> in 2024.]

The name evokes images of powerful athletes, superheroes, and an awesome Black Sabbath song. Over the years, Timex Ironman watches have gained a reputation for being tough watches that amateur athletes can depend on. So, when you strap on the Timex Ironman Triathlon 30-Lap Oversize Digital Watch, you certainly feel ready for action. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">While you don't gain the ability to fire disruptor rays from your palms, this Ironman watch will allow you to time things, countdown, remember lap times, and remember up to 15 dates.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">The plastic watch case of this Ironman watch looks rugged and adventure ready. The bezel is deep blue on black. Yellow is used for the Timex Name and Ironman icon. The function button labels are white in a large, readable, no-nonsense font. The case is well-integrated into the band and extends around your wrist gauntlet style. I think the shape and taper of the case into the band subtly evokes the shape of the comic Ironman's suit or well-defined six-pack abs. But, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. The band itself is blue canvas with black velcro extending along its entire length. The case measures about 1 3/4 inches across and is about 9/16-inches thick. The watch fits my 8 1/2-inch wrists with room to spare. The band measures 15/16-inches wide. </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">According to Timex.com, this Timex Ironman has an INDIGLO Night-Light with Night-Mode, a 100-Hour Chronograph with Lap and Split Times, a 30-lap memory recall, a 99-lap counter, a 24-hour countdown timer with stop and repeat, and fifteen date reminders. The watch also appears to have up to three alarms. In truth, as a bit of an analog guy, I find all of that just a little difficult to set up. Fortunately, the small print instructions found in the watch box can be difficult to read. Adobe acrobat versions of the manual are available at Timex.com. I was easily able to set reminders in the watch for birthdays, my anniversary, and holidays. That function alone may save many iron men. While there is an initial learning curve, it's nice to have a watch that offers a wide array of alarms and reminders. The stopwatch itself is actually very easy to start, stop, and reset. </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: xx-large;"><i><b>This Timex Ironman watch looks great, fits great, and offers a lot of features. But, it doesn't offer any superpowers. </b></i></span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">Setting all the Ironman functions aside, I like this watch because it goes with my blue shirts. I also like the streamlined styling of the Timex Ironman a lot more than the clunky looks offered by its Casio-competitor the G Shock. While this watch won't provide any superpowers, it will support a lot of athletic activities and provide lots of useful reminders, alarms, and stopwatch functions. </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">Overall, I like the Timex Ironman Tradition 30-Lap Oversize watch. Brands like <a href="https://amzn.to/42zkHHW" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">MVMT</a> have been on the forefront of minimalist design. They offer a variety of elegant minimalist designs. But, you don't see many of their watches in stores. This is a watch I recently wore for a casual night out to a sports bar. It's the Casio Men's Outdoor Watch with Velcro Band <span style="font-family: inherit;">(Model <span style="background-color: white; color: #0f1111;">MRW-210HB-5BVCF</span>)</span>. </span></p><p></p><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXS6_D7dAQIYukI0VUtZdvV7LLhx_qukFSxXWPAAdz104xgHBUpHzYPAL7YmAOL-E7SkgGOH5CnLUF5zvKs5AaOk8PuaK71VMzj7J08DxIwD-cKa3FY6ll1uJXQgXdVALSHkk5SWwJWmb-rOQHRhietZN-NXSZqz2lS8X-53KYZ_K6nsTgUfTqXCMkz1Q/s4000/20240107_220749.jpg" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXS6_D7dAQIYukI0VUtZdvV7LLhx_qukFSxXWPAAdz104xgHBUpHzYPAL7YmAOL-E7SkgGOH5CnLUF5zvKs5AaOk8PuaK71VMzj7J08DxIwD-cKa3FY6ll1uJXQgXdVALSHkk5SWwJWmb-rOQHRhietZN-NXSZqz2lS8X-53KYZ_K6nsTgUfTqXCMkz1Q/w300-h400/20240107_220749.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Casio MRW-210HB</td></tr></tbody></table><span style="font-size: large;"> I like this watch for its lightweight, comfort, and general wear everywhere bang-about-ability. (That's not even a word.) It's pretty much the kind of watch you can wear anywhere and everywhere. It looks rugged and it's an easy to read watch. There's really not much to dislike about it. If you don't need the complexity of subdials, it might be a great alternative to the <a href="https://www.thewatchdude.com/2023/12/watch-review-casio-mens-heavy-duty.html" target="_blank">Casio Men's Heavy Duty Chronograph Quartz Watch (MCW-100H)</a>.</span><p></p><span style="font-size: large;">It would have been nice if Casio would have given this watch an adventurous name. I guess nothing really says "Adventure" more than Casio MRW-210HB. </span><div><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: large;">If you'd like to find this watch on simple, but great, sports watch on Amazon, you can simply <a href="https://amzn.to/3RKiuo8" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">bang it here</a>. I also have other variants of this watch. Back in 2017, I reviewed a Casio MCW-210H with a white face. As a watch collector, it's hard to go to stores like Kohl's or Belk and find any interesting watches lately. The stores reduce the sizes of their watch departments and make me wonder: </span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>"Do you even know me at all?"</b></span></p><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqsz3WOxXmqRhALFEoiHvxQooykV6awZd-JMHVAjByeOzaFR6OVjkZdbuHrZgfH20NJTwj0afHHS1fM8G4YKoWo7f9Re2Np-o3zdSpG0_0bGbmivcPkhz0iTZSTXlk_V5ypK5pfzK4lUCMwMTlFgNqT7HEb7lpcmq7nL-lLfsLhr2Awk4o5P1bMJcxK-M/s764/HawkerHurricane2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="764" data-original-width="640" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqsz3WOxXmqRhALFEoiHvxQooykV6awZd-JMHVAjByeOzaFR6OVjkZdbuHrZgfH20NJTwj0afHHS1fM8G4YKoWo7f9Re2Np-o3zdSpG0_0bGbmivcPkhz0iTZSTXlk_V5ypK5pfzK4lUCMwMTlFgNqT7HEb7lpcmq7nL-lLfsLhr2Awk4o5P1bMJcxK-M/w335-h400/HawkerHurricane2.jpg" width="335" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A Hawker Hurricane Watch from AVI-8</td></tr></tbody></table><p><span style="font-size: large;">If you want repeat customers in a watch department, you need to have interesting and current watches. Provide an interesting browsing experience with watches that are truly unique and that really appeal to customers. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Tap into popular culture. The watches are widely available at more normal prices on Amazon and eBay.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlsXacQgUYN8lgYgrgrPCamcnGF0XA7hIvZfnZwInn9bB8uhyCMxvOFfgG4-GSFQb9UWtHNK9TgJ8tWSd2td5QiJXytfde3_Osv3iYJiKgD6gjJhNgNel6oK2vljYltTB90X3aNYGV7R6DxxlmaZ7XPiIhZp4IVOJBBzNCIKDUgUl1Ui0lksMSM_TEMFE/s4000/20230914_144958.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlsXacQgUYN8lgYgrgrPCamcnGF0XA7hIvZfnZwInn9bB8uhyCMxvOFfgG4-GSFQb9UWtHNK9TgJ8tWSd2td5QiJXytfde3_Osv3iYJiKgD6gjJhNgNel6oK2vljYltTB90X3aNYGV7R6DxxlmaZ7XPiIhZp4IVOJBBzNCIKDUgUl1Ui0lksMSM_TEMFE/s320/20230914_144958.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /></div><h2 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Watch Features and Construction</h2><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9cLPlyHzgR-xDktVyMPZDXo6gEVAH9awgHBI27yvBcRKKScvAakBSb2FwgEWBo0GCQVecSyS-WCceAxcd-aLaEy9jxa_7ar5q59xtKGKZSnzjFaecd34M7xuGmMKhoL5BUG4IL7RJUhrQYsCBc-wfVab_CxloMRabHQlQ0H4vJyvkLntFoDLmjNhsZeQ/s4000/20231205_135906.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9cLPlyHzgR-xDktVyMPZDXo6gEVAH9awgHBI27yvBcRKKScvAakBSb2FwgEWBo0GCQVecSyS-WCceAxcd-aLaEy9jxa_7ar5q59xtKGKZSnzjFaecd34M7xuGmMKhoL5BUG4IL7RJUhrQYsCBc-wfVab_CxloMRabHQlQ0H4vJyvkLntFoDLmjNhsZeQ/s320/20231205_135906.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-size: large;">The attractiveness of the Perry Ellis Deep Diver lies in its simple lines, light weight, and pretty face. But, a longer look reveals that the Perry Ellis Deep Diver offers all of that in a package with some great specifications. With stainless steel construction and 200 meters of water resistance, this watch is the real deal for swimming, snorkeling, and, perhaps, some scuba diving. It has a screw down crown and a unidirectional rotating bezel with countdown markings for 20 minutes. The strap is made from silicone and is generously sized.</span></div><div><br /></div><h2 style="text-align: left;">Watch Dimensions</h2><div><span style="font-size: large;">One of the things I like about this watch is that it is big in the face where it counts and small in case thickness. The case diameter for the Perry Ellis Deep Diver is about 45 millimeters. The thickness is about 9 millimeters. The strap diameter is 20 millimeters for most of the way around and bumps just slightly wider at the watch case.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-d1k9ryD1oafWsMNJmSFeBPZ4GLUHw9RDduE5paEep7i_3hpBXpPi8b3AzCIWCHjrV0Y-0Vpfl1yAjMftTiM0CG-kPAzVEuPn9BACXGRqJQupqVltgP2by_y4jQIA-fXEeSeIaa3ezTnlgQgLBwouwWbDdolRTCfgDVSA-grrUgz7DNZ6qfz-BkVs46k/s4000/20230914_145005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-d1k9ryD1oafWsMNJmSFeBPZ4GLUHw9RDduE5paEep7i_3hpBXpPi8b3AzCIWCHjrV0Y-0Vpfl1yAjMftTiM0CG-kPAzVEuPn9BACXGRqJQupqVltgP2by_y4jQIA-fXEeSeIaa3ezTnlgQgLBwouwWbDdolRTCfgDVSA-grrUgz7DNZ6qfz-BkVs46k/s320/20230914_145005.jpg" width="240" /></a></div></span></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><h2 style="text-align: left;">Overall Impression</h2><span style="font-size: large;">I really liked the looks of this sports watch and loved that it had serious water resistance and a screw-down crown. I'd consider it a good value at around $80 to $120. It was a fashionable watch at one time, but it looks much sadder today. The black resin strap oxidized over the years. It developed a white residue on some parts and the strap became brittle and broke into pieces. Apparently, rubber degrades over time and returns to a non-vulcanized state. (Sounds logical . . .) The only thing you can do is wipe the watch strap down periodically with isopropyl alcohol. It will clean the watch up, but it won't stop the decay.</span><div><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgch_d-dsmbhb0tJMfOq844b6zwph93oY9II0uxkSwVLsMImwJ30zb0q5uOYQcMrMpcAj0HIyZMYRs5YDBk4AyZR48IkzKQWLLcvulIiPpfNFuMOEzJ63N5Z6TakpEN1XTw__zGX-Phack_GFM1XYfW-7VckqWHCQrF-HiBQ2t0-VX0JEeIDODre5B8fR8/s3110/20240110_194518.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2455" data-original-width="3110" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgch_d-dsmbhb0tJMfOq844b6zwph93oY9II0uxkSwVLsMImwJ30zb0q5uOYQcMrMpcAj0HIyZMYRs5YDBk4AyZR48IkzKQWLLcvulIiPpfNFuMOEzJ63N5Z6TakpEN1XTw__zGX-Phack_GFM1XYfW-7VckqWHCQrF-HiBQ2t0-VX0JEeIDODre5B8fR8/w400-h316/20240110_194518.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Remnants of a Structure Diver Style Watch.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div><span style="font-size: large;">In truth, it's a watch that I never wore much. Words cannot express how deeply I appreciate Amazon changing up their allowed formats for affiliate advertisements: Not! Where we could once get a quick link with a picture and description of an item from Amazon, now we must get links from their sitestripe tool. That means many of the advertising links from Amazon on this blog are simply not working. It's frustrating.</span></p><p></p><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZWalNgKxRfpqK2EKZp3fi-HYxgUyJewyA7mVLcF8HazMB9qw9gjK566gxmLTRUFN9l-L7rr8FpurLeVb_Ge2S5hWSKjJfh11BpbJzNgNQbdu95kTNiJr4adZ81P_4P_DYMeXKjZfMh4vXlUPzE-7f7i09l8Z9_Cc3nwS2y1fDXl-JlvhkzoBU0kANrtE/s3001/20240102_184959.jpg" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3001" data-original-width="2984" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZWalNgKxRfpqK2EKZp3fi-HYxgUyJewyA7mVLcF8HazMB9qw9gjK566gxmLTRUFN9l-L7rr8FpurLeVb_Ge2S5hWSKjJfh11BpbJzNgNQbdu95kTNiJr4adZ81P_4P_DYMeXKjZfMh4vXlUPzE-7f7i09l8Z9_Cc3nwS2y1fDXl-JlvhkzoBU0kANrtE/s320/20240102_184959.jpg" width="318" /></span></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">A Casio Watch Manual</span></td></tr></tbody></table><span style="font-size: large;">Of course, one good thing from this frustration is that I get to go through the 450+ posts on this blog and update them. It's a painstaking process, but it is also a chance to revisit some of my early articles and provide updates. In some cases, it's merely a matter of increasing the font size and providing some more relevant and up-to-date advertising links. In other cases, I can add some more content and provide updates to reviews.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">I've only recently begun posting new articles again and I've started accumulating some new watches at well. It's fun to revive a hobby and get back into it. It reminds me of all the cool watches I have in my collection. Of course, I do wish it would remind me of all the places where I have watches stashed. But, we'll rediscover them together.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">I've started updating posts from 2011. I can't believe this watch blog has been burbling along for 13 years! More amazingly, we've gotten over 955,000 visits over the years. That's incredible. I hope you've found my posts interesting and engaging and I hope my reviews have been helpful. I really appreciate all of your visits.</span></p><p></p><span style="font-size: large; text-align: left;">So far, I've noticed that on some of my early posts, I used this blog to refer visitors to full reviews that I had written of Yahoo's Associated Content site. While the site is long gone, Yahoo was kind enough to let us keep our articles. I thought I had posted most of them in full here, but apparently, I missed a few. This one is Model MCW-100H and generally retails for less than $50. I like the large readable hands (including a white-tipped bright orange second hand), large hour indices, and practical analog features.</span></p><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://amzn.to/3S4RZLo" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="2451" data-original-width="2472" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiilcuXUm2H24pHso14ZDkpoZYsza8P6BtA-Vh3T6s0aUJKyDw5_h_n2kZSmYnzE1s7YOlsHpoU1X02XNYDr8KqKAzSdk-1ZwVg6cqpv93v8Rwa3MT_36b09EEicZXUKvryTBlxrNq95iU1IDwAISYM9plj5y6__znM7gI58r6iU0pnIXqIj2rQtegQkGo/s320/20231209_224822.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><h2 style="text-align: left;"><b>Watch Features</b></h2><p><span style="font-size: medium;">This Casio is an analog watch with sub-dials offering 24-hour time, a chronograph with seconds, and a chronograph dial with up to 30 minutes. The watch has a readable date window canted at an angle between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The Casio Men's Heavy Duty Chronograph features a Japanese quartz movement. However, the watch itself is assembled in China with a Chinese case and band.</span></p><h2 style="text-align: left;">Watch Style</h2><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://amzn.to/3S4RZLo" rel="nofollow" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicrK7F-0I9LvbmIF7IGOGNjGrrym2coi8xcu8DY-xEBAH5DgalmjC6tR4NFoCBKqR8jcCvqZCV8IZN_AgsExoUpZYYDhehp4jizpho68osFjQKlnqAfkiyDcbxp0p2w4tUplRSBngkKFs9XF_36txMgwp0PjNNVq5765LwgvcbewKXmCp1_R_WDpmTJ-A/s320/20231230_201931.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-size: medium;">I find the style of the Casio Men's Heavy Duty Chronograph to be a real strong point. This watch offers much of the style of the popular Casio G-Shock series at a lower price point. If you don't need the extra ruggedness of a G-Shock or the digital features of a G-Shock, this watch might be a nice alternative. It offers a utilitarian, adventurous, style that is appealing to most men.</span><p></p><span style="font-size: medium;">I do like that the subdials are still just readable to me on this watch despite my aging eyes. The watch hands are bright, large, and well marked. The buttons and crown are protected from inadvertent activation by molded resin bump-outs.<br /></span><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The bright orange band also makes this watch very easy to find on a cluttered vanity top. It's always easy to grab for quick adventures around town.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">While this watch is attractive, it's also obviously not an expensive watch. There's no fear that it will be mugger bait.</span></p><h2 style="text-align: left;">Watch Construction</h2><p></p><p><a href="https://amzn.to/3S4RZLo" rel="nofollow" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="2229" data-original-width="2183" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMr1XMQvWtxV3BCXbkmZaD0O2aH8Rw4Z10-fTuCVxRkUy4SwsSvFn0zdqKIBO77omMnsMaByz165Zc0fAnXG-MqI_9oqtVa7GBjZ1XtarcEHwUtsRBRGQrampP98512LQmN3HQtGgLqqF3JUWVm4SMgNO__L_L6fljM2nq2Y-FgvZJTKJp5O3j-eJi0vU/s320/20231209_224831.jpg" width="313" /></a></p><span style="font-size: medium;">Despite the rugged looks of this watch, it is largely constructed from various plastics. While the caseback is stainless steel, the watch band and case are made from resin.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">If you are an actual adventurer, this watch is water-resistant to 100 meters so it should be fine for swimming or snorkeling, but not scuba diving.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">At least one reviewer on Amazon have commented that the resin band on this watch feels more like plastic than silicone or rubber. I'd have to agree, but I do find this band very comfortable and perhaps not as sweaty as some rubber watch straps can make the wearer feel.</span></p><h2>Watch Dimensions</h2><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio02yCW1s1ZE9lwAtIclSeLLlXkIeEOZ-jm5VK3Phjl8J5JMRu0Gk51zM_1LHM40EHqA2v9Z7syx63_40da21taRZj4y-wx_MMZRpqx6JG__mOTRMw9czKSPBFjYammfzndTJ3s6e2BSOqR_5YjmYilf_HglUZK8TpCMyo9vjFMR-_GlOZPt2bhKJwfco/s2166/20231209_224826.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2166" data-original-width="2166" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio02yCW1s1ZE9lwAtIclSeLLlXkIeEOZ-jm5VK3Phjl8J5JMRu0Gk51zM_1LHM40EHqA2v9Z7syx63_40da21taRZj4y-wx_MMZRpqx6JG__mOTRMw9czKSPBFjYammfzndTJ3s6e2BSOqR_5YjmYilf_HglUZK8TpCMyo9vjFMR-_GlOZPt2bhKJwfco/s320/20231209_224826.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><span style="font-size: medium;">The Casio Men's Heavy Duty Chronograph is a little chunky, but not crazily so. The case diameter for this watch is 49.3 millimeters and the thickness is 13 millimeters. The strap is 25 millimeters at the case. It is generous in length and fits my wrist with room to spare.</span><p></p><span style="font-size: medium;">It's definitely not a think watch, but it fits the wrist well and, thanks to the resin construction, it is lightweight.</span><br /><p><span style="font-size: medium;">For an adventure watch, I think the dimensions of the Casio MCW-100H are just right.</span></p><p><br /></p><h2 style="text-align: left;">Overall Impression</h2><p><span style="font-size: medium;">As I read this review, I'm struck by the number of little compromises that were made in the design and construction of this watch. Yes, the materials are cheap. Yes, it is a little chunky. Yes, it's not a <a href="https://amzn.to/3vrOE0e" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">G-Shock</a>. But, it is a cool watch. It looks good. It is practical and very readable and it is ready for all the adventures that I will dish out. It is actually one of the best watches around for under $50. This watch is available <a href="https://amzn.to/4ax6zm6" target="_blank">here </a>on Amazon.</span></p>GatorDudehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13687872388270895030noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55700456220257227.post-36422223764806260432023-11-14T21:00:00.000-08:002023-11-14T21:00:00.412-08:00InvictaStores.com: A Great Place for Watch Deals<p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: right;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg77n4gt8BVYnVe9OfTVBYzAkuoRW9Dd78eRbPtQsQur-A2PT_qE9XKI3ouhi5sh5rJN8832JC1vw1n0frgehnWWGFn7mLS1E9sXahWfYU_HLmUGbl3SJdZP_F6zVq_mDRX46r1OfrwyQasZJXSJ5ZKmwIg1cpx662_jc38xD-3mVZetcOjFfO88tyOtVg/s4000/20231105_163944.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg77n4gt8BVYnVe9OfTVBYzAkuoRW9Dd78eRbPtQsQur-A2PT_qE9XKI3ouhi5sh5rJN8832JC1vw1n0frgehnWWGFn7mLS1E9sXahWfYU_HLmUGbl3SJdZP_F6zVq_mDRX46r1OfrwyQasZJXSJ5ZKmwIg1cpx662_jc38xD-3mVZetcOjFfO88tyOtVg/s320/20231105_163944.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><h2 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">WHERE TO FIND INVICTA DEALS</span></h2><span style="font-family: arial;">Have you checked out the Invicta Store online yet? Even as the team has shown flashes of brilliance and improvement in many areas, they play in a tough league where rival Georgia is building a dynasty and the schools that the Gators "should beat" seem to improve every year. As of this writing, it looks like the team will have to dig deep and heroes will need to emerge just for the team to become bowl eligible. Fortunately, for Gator fans and alumni, the University of Florida will always be the champions in terms of swag and gear. In this watch review, we'll take a look at the Timex Tribute Men's Citation 42mm Quartz Watch with Stainless Steel strap. It's a great watch, just look at that face.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://amzn.to/3MDTUDH" rel="nofollow" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisGY0i5_DYXvm8xYIuF0WD0CCp-r2GdVieV9y-1bK3GdTqZX7XtPcnpnwS_43JFUvy9ZqjZr3XBedL9bjvMnl6eDvMDgrR2EijA0o65HDTdedW0ze9Z_ycN-E-yclatIHpjG0leWTAaR3iwkqVHCpFMbZPpIEDhZJdBEhdr_3tfTUYyQt74Rf8cwvZ7hU/s320/20231110_215937.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><p><span style="font-family: arial;">I love that Gator grin. But, if you are a fan of some other team, you'll likely find your school among the offerings. 44 major universities are represented. 42 are football powerhouses and 2 (Gonaza and Villanova) are known as basketball schools. I did notice that Notre Dame, Baylor, and the Air Force Academy are not represented. No one exemplifies that more than Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. The platinum recording artist reportedly had a net worth of $1 billion in 2022. One of the things that propelled his business success was making the hip-hop into fashion with his brand <i>Sean John</i>.</span><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;">In 2016, Sean Combs sold 90% of the brand to Global Brands Group. But, late in 2022, he bought the brand back for around $7.5 million when Global Brands Group went into bankruptcy. Now, you'll find the brand name on all sorts of men's clothing and <a href="https://amzn.to/4aFBAVb" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">cologne</a>.<br /></span><p></p><div><span style="font-size: medium;">For this review, we'll take a look at an inexpensive Sean John watch that I found at a Burlington store here in Georgia. As the logo on the dial shows, the brand evokes sunny beaches, swaying palm trees, and an idyllic life in a beach hut. Who doesn't want that?</span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlC42DkwbaXUOaKjOK76J7F479srOqVPLVh36twkuqiWHOhCbNoqOSeBT_gF4iWnQrRHqWzyZm7gKpeSoT18aRMdAsd7L3yqEXOuheo4gCJ72NPGObcBHmZdY3K1976QKslheamyyrpxPuhSrWD6aqZ5QotTL-YAJfywKdZqifHr5o5H8lzLyNBwOavxY/s4000/20230814_131214.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlC42DkwbaXUOaKjOK76J7F479srOqVPLVh36twkuqiWHOhCbNoqOSeBT_gF4iWnQrRHqWzyZm7gKpeSoT18aRMdAsd7L3yqEXOuheo4gCJ72NPGObcBHmZdY3K1976QKslheamyyrpxPuhSrWD6aqZ5QotTL-YAJfywKdZqifHr5o5H8lzLyNBwOavxY/s320/20230814_131214.jpg" width="240" /></span></a></div><span style="font-size: medium;">With my own summer ruined by a bit of job and career uncertainty, I had no chance to escape to any tropical places this year. I'm sure that a watch that retails for less than $30 won't contain any gold at all. But, it is a little shiny. The case is a base metal alloy and the caseback is stainless steel. The strap is made in China from a nice vegan leather. (I don't think China should treat vegans this way, but as long as no part of the vegan goes to waste, I guess it is o.k.) They make a nice strap that looks like leather. The fanciest brands of men's watches in this Georgia location are Timex, Armitron, and Casio. Many of brands are fashion labels like Caribbean Joe or Geoffrey Beane.<br /></span><p><span style="font-size: large;">Unfortunately, the watches on display were very simple with few, if any complications. It works out ok since my eyes don't pick up the small print of the extra complications on my watches.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDhPLe4ps8l3kNrzrm7XbfFry9vsv7RacntrqLSb81at7wTcxLWzxQ_MlhSYPhQdQPu9eYcuPNeFv3KIqEKusqSxXxjNldyUEqonHno2mMr9DYc400ZE6qegTOMeOa76TvvB8Ej1xqu5YLUhU7sZA0viwyp3b-wTscCHrKdiOWoF6z_gMbB8OgW7bWspM/s4000/20230813_182906.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="226" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDhPLe4ps8l3kNrzrm7XbfFry9vsv7RacntrqLSb81at7wTcxLWzxQ_MlhSYPhQdQPu9eYcuPNeFv3KIqEKusqSxXxjNldyUEqonHno2mMr9DYc400ZE6qegTOMeOa76TvvB8Ej1xqu5YLUhU7sZA0viwyp3b-wTscCHrKdiOWoF6z_gMbB8OgW7bWspM/w170-h226/20230813_182906.jpg" width="170" /></a></div><span style="font-size: large;">Here is a typical Armitron watch that can be found at Kohl's now. It's a pretty masculine-looking timepiece. I didn't pick it up since I have plenty of simple watches in my collection right now. If you'd like this specific watch, it is available <a href="https://amzn.to/48L9xlw" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here on Amazon</a>. A more affordable Armitron alternative is very similar <a href="https://amzn.to/3tSMar4" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here on Amazon</a>.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">A dwindling watch supply leaves me with one major question: what are dudes supposed to shop for at Kohl's nowadays? It has long been a traditional favorite store for my wife and me, but I don't need but one air fryer. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Watch this blog though. I'll soon have a <a href="https://www.thewatchdude.com/2023/09/watch-review-caribbean-joe-mens-degrade.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">review for an nice Caribbean Joe watch</a> that I did find in the ruins.</span></p>GatorDudehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13687872388270895030noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55700456220257227.post-75044478909197573292023-08-10T21:00:00.001-07:002024-02-14T16:55:18.935-08:00Wristwatch Review : Citizen Weekender Men's Eco-Drive Sport Watch<p><span style="font-size: medium;">For everyday wear, I often choose this Citizen Weekender Eco-Drive Men's sport watch (Model AW1585-55L). It has a sophisticated look and is supremely easy to read. The perforations around the bezel subtly evoke thoughts of motorsports. The watch is marketed in a sports watch line called Citizen AR for "Action Required."</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQkuc-1pa_KAJ5G60HQxqK1pdMBkQoCxNQPH5PzLE6Fu_MlxUfYgIB79E2rT7-3unigegU3aRsfEuMESOyeoiwABt-U8r_WvQWU-k3HAnTkfWTZIkxHs8R2aE-GTtawnLKdfqhS-LUgwZorecFxbQsOsjlFv3S7QLFGnQQSDr-y5-HT8huRlkRkX_mBn0/s4000/20230702_180029.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQkuc-1pa_KAJ5G60HQxqK1pdMBkQoCxNQPH5PzLE6Fu_MlxUfYgIB79E2rT7-3unigegU3aRsfEuMESOyeoiwABt-U8r_WvQWU-k3HAnTkfWTZIkxHs8R2aE-GTtawnLKdfqhS-LUgwZorecFxbQsOsjlFv3S7QLFGnQQSDr-y5-HT8huRlkRkX_mBn0/w300-h400/20230702_180029.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><b><p><br /></p><span style="font-size: medium;">Watch Dimensions:</span></b><span style="font-size: medium;"> This watch comes in at a sensibly pleasing size with a 45mm diameter case that is 12mm thick. The lugs measure 22mm. The band measures 222 mm.</span><p></p><p></p><b><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ9tKHEw1JnOgVoy2h5-czfzqTCEXaOBqCaMopcZoZnfbcq4ULkLsZhyNpMWj3ldkVPa9i0vNDrp5xZXRnhESMzlW-4aEgxJDaEzCzqZyu5Yq8BYd0_zXaMJRf2MEmGA_rr0eI6tKADfyCda3hzGyQ66sZikNBNRr0DEgoixjd6ipRJHMq07AQK5lQoT4/s4000/20230702_221057.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ9tKHEw1JnOgVoy2h5-czfzqTCEXaOBqCaMopcZoZnfbcq4ULkLsZhyNpMWj3ldkVPa9i0vNDrp5xZXRnhESMzlW-4aEgxJDaEzCzqZyu5Yq8BYd0_zXaMJRf2MEmGA_rr0eI6tKADfyCda3hzGyQ66sZikNBNRr0DEgoixjd6ipRJHMq07AQK5lQoT4/w300-h400/20230702_221057.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div><b><br /></b></div><span style="font-size: medium;">Construction:</span></b><span style="font-size: medium;"> The watch is constructed of black ion-plated stainless steel with a mineral crystal. It is rated for 100 meters of water resistance. It's certainly rugged enough for day-to-day adventures. The bezel does not rotate so it isn't useful for timing scuba dives or pizzas in the oven.</span><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><b>Technical Features:</b> The watch has a small date window, but no other complications. That's probably good since my eyes are hard-pressed to pick up the nuances of complications sometimes. Eco-Drive is the watches main technical selling point. The watch continuously charges and, once fully charged, this watch will keep time for months in the darkness of a sock drawer.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;">Overall, this Citizen Weekender watch is a satisfying watch for daily wear.
